Fruitland

The neighbourhood of Fruitland is part of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Fruitland is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and many properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way. However, the public transit service in Fruitland is quite bad. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines. Most homes for sale in this part of Hamilton are located in places that are not very suitable for walking because very few common errands can be run without needing to use a car. Fruitland is also not very conducive to cycling because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

Some house buyers in Fruitland may be able to purchase groceries by walking, while others will have to use another means of transportation. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and coffee shops as well. When it comes to education, parents and their kids will appreciate the proximity to primary schools, which are within walking distance from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, Fruitland does not have any high schools.

Character

Most areas in Fruitland are reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. It is occasionally challenging to reach parks within the neighbourhood since they aren't well-situated. Despite that, there are about 20 parks nearby for residents to unwind in.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Fruitland is an important part of its character. Around 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were built before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
